Highworth & District Lions Grant - 8th March 2023

On Wednesday 8th March, Highworth & District Lions Club visited us to present a cheque for £250.  The funds will go toward the purchase of specialist music equipment suitable for babies up to 12 months of age.

Founder & Group Leader, Jan Davidson said:

“This is the second donation made by Highworth Lions to our group, following on from a grant of £400 when we first set the group up in May last year. We have grown considerably in our first year, having moved to Highworth Community Centre in September of 2022, we have now taken additional space, meaning that we can now offer or services to more people.

As a group, we try to keep our membership costs as low as possible to make the group as accessible as possible to a wide range of users.  Grants such as this are immensely important to the group as they allow us to provide a wide range of age specific development activities”

We are Growing !!

We are growing at an amazing rate and, because of this, we are pleased to announce the we have taken on an adjoining room in the community centre - doubling our available space.

This means that we are able to offer more activities and have been able to remove our waiting list, so we can currently accept new members almost immediately.

September Podium Sale: Although the footfall was relatively low, we raised around £160.00.  Thank you for supporting this event. Particular thanks go to Chantel's husband, Neil, who helped with putting up the gazebo and taking it down again, and to Val and Sarah for making yummy cakes to sell.

Paediatric First Aid:  This was a huge success and beneficial to all of us.  One group member has recommended a video that they had found on the subject and found it to be very informative.  Both of the instructors enjoyed leading this session and were impressed as to how you responded to the training.

We're on the move.

Published 8th July 2022

We have been astounded with the level of interest and support we have received since opening in May.

This success has meant that we have quickly reached capacity in our current venue at the Church Room. We have investigated various options to gain more space and, as a result, we are pleased to announce that from 7th September we will be operating in a different location. We will be moving to Room 9 in the Highworth Community Centre.

This move offers a number of advantages including; more space, a more usable floor area, on-site parking, outside space and room to grow if we choose to do so. The on-site parking means that (if you are driving) you will be able to bring your child from the car into the centre without needing to unpack your pushchairs (which means we will have more floor space to use)

We will give you full details in the next few weeks.
